Libre with Glide

FreeStyle Libre 2, 3 and 3 Plus, through LibreLinkUp. Last updated 30 September 2026.

Glide reads a Libre sensor through LibreLinkUp, Abbott's follower service. Glide takes the place of one LibreLinkUp follower: you make a follower account for it, and it reads what that follower would see. Once it is connected, every phone on the Glide profile sees the same numbers, with the meals and doses the family logs drawn on the chart. Setup happens once, on the profile owner's phone.

Setup

1. In the wearer's FreeStyle Libre app, go to Connected Apps → LibreLinkUp and invite a new follower. Use an email address made just for Glide.
2. Install the LibreLinkUp app, sign in with that new account once, accept Abbott's terms, and confirm the email if Abbott asks.
3. In Glide, tap Connect a CGM on a new account, or Settings → CGM on an existing profile. Pick Libre and enter that LibreLinkUp login. Glide finds the region itself.

The 20-connection limit

A Libre app user can share with up to 20 LibreLinkUp connections. Glide uses one of them. Everyone else joins the Glide profile with an invite code, and there is no limit on how many Glide followers a profile has. The LibreLinkUp app keeps working beside Glide for anyone who has it.

When readings stop

Glide treats a gap as an event. After 30 minutes without a reading (you can set 15 or more), every phone on the profile gets a lost signal banner. Overnight, in the hours you choose, Glide can also ring your phone with a call, so a sensor that drops out at 2 AM does not stay silent until morning.

What you see in Glide

• The live number, arrow and last two changes on every family phone, and in a Lock Screen banner.
• Every meal and dose on the same chart, logged from any phone. Replay goes back day by day.
• Time in range and GRI with its zone letter for today and the last 14 days.
• Your unit, mg/dL or mmol/L, per account. Glide seeds it from the phone's region and you can change it.
• Low, rise and fall banners with thresholds you set, and the nighttime call.

If the chart stops updating

Glide stops when LibreLinkUp stops. Check, in order:

1. The FreeStyle Libre app on the wearer's phone is running and shows recent readings.
2. The follower invite is still accepted in that app (Connected Apps → LibreLinkUp).
3. The follower account's password has not changed. If it has, enter the new one in Glide under Settings → CGM.

Abbott sometimes holds a follower's readings until that follower accepts new terms or verifies the email address in the LibreLinkUp app. Glide's Home banner then names that step. The owner of the follower account does it in the LibreLinkUp app; a new password in Glide does not help. Anything else: support.
