Dexcom G6 follower not getting alerts

A follower gets no notifications if they are turned off in the Follow app or in phone settings, if a delay is set, or if the sharer's status is No Data, Disconnected, Not Sharing or Removed. (Dexcom; Dexcom user guide, p. 204)

What the maker says to do

1. In Dexcom Follow, turn on the notifications you want for each sharer.
2. Check each notification's delay setting.
3. Check the sharer's status; ask the sharer to check their CGM if it says No Data.
4. Turn on notifications for Dexcom Follow in the phone settings.
5. Do not use Do Not Disturb, Focus or Scheduled Summary for Follow, or add Follow as an allowed app.
