What this page checks
Glide's monitor sends a request to each Dexcom Share server, share2.dexcom.com for US accounts and shareous1.dexcom.com for accounts outside the US. These are the servers Glide reads Dexcom readings from. A problem with one phone, one sensor or one mobile network does not show here.
Dexcom Share is up, but Dexcom Follow shows no readings
Followers get readings from the Dexcom cloud server, so the wearer's phone must be online and the G7 app must keep running. Low Power Mode can delay what followers see. (Dexcom)
What the maker says to do:
- Make sure the wearer's phone has a stable data plan or Wi-Fi connection.
- On a school network, ask the school IT department to allow the Dexcom Follow connection.
- Ask the wearer to turn off Low Power Mode.
- Check status.dexcom.com for a Dexcom server problem.
What followers get when readings stop
In the G7 app, a Signal Loss banner shows after 2 missed readings, and the phone sounds or vibrates after about 20 minutes (you can change this). In Dexcom Follow, followers can turn on a No Data notification; it is off in the default invitation. (Dexcom user guide, p. 114; Dexcom user guide, p. 86; Dexcom user guide, p. 84)
Glide sends every phone on the profile a lost signal banner after 30 minutes without a reading, and overnight it can call a phone number you verify (Premium). How the lost-signal call works.
