Dexcom G7 signal loss: what the maker says to do

Signal Loss means the phone has stopped getting readings from the G7 sensor. The last reading stays for 10.5 minutes, then shows '---' and then Signal Loss. The sensor sends only once every 5 minutes, so a fix can take a while to show. (Dexcom)

What the maker says to do

  1. Bring the G7 app to the foreground and do not swipe it closed.
  2. Turn Bluetooth off, then on again, and leave it on.
  3. Keep the phone within 6 meters (20 feet) of the sensor, on the same side of your body.
  4. Restart the phone and the app.
  5. Use the phone settings in the app at Profile > Phone Settings and keep the battery above 20%.
  6. If Signal Loss lasts more than 30 minutes, call Dexcom Technical Support at 1-844-607-8398.

A call when readings stop

Glide sends every phone on the profile a lost signal banner after 30 minutes without a reading, and overnight it can call a phone number you verify (Premium). How the lost-signal call works.
