Time in tight range (TITR)
Also called time in tight target range, TITR 70-140.
Time in tight range is the share of CGM values between 70 and 140 mg/dL (3.9 to 7.8 mmol/L), a narrower band than standard time in range. The 2017 CGM consensus listed 70 to 140 mg/dL as a secondary target range, and ADA's 2026 technology chapter cites a CGM study that reported it next to TIR. (ADA Standards of Care 2026, section 7; International consensus on CGM use, 2017)
Formula
TITR (%) = CGM values from 70 to 140 mg/dL ÷ all CGM values × 100
Worked example
Over 14 days, 2,016 of 4,032 values between 70 and 140 mg/dL is 50% TITR. The same two weeks can show a TIR of 72%, because every value from 141 to 180 mg/dL (7.8 to 10.0 mmol/L) counts for TIR and not for TITR.
