Can trained school staff give insulin?

Can trained school staff give glucagon?

Volunteer diabetes care assistants, sought when a school has no school nurse assigned, are trained to give glucagon (70 O.S. §§ 1210.196.4, 1210.196.5). Can a student carry supplies and manage diabetes at school?
Yes
In line with the student's diabetes medical management plan, a school must let the student check glucose, give insulin, treat highs and lows, carry supplies at any time, and manage diabetes anywhere on school grounds and at school activities (70 O.S. § 1210.196.7). (oklahoma.gov (PDF))
Does the state publish a diabetes care plan form or guidelines?

Can a student keep a phone for the CGM in class?
Yes
With written parent permission, a school nurse, diabetes care assistant, or other staff may install CGM follow apps on a school device, or on a personal device if the school provides none, and is not disciplined for not watching numbers outside school hours (70 O.S. §§ 1210.196.4(G), 1210.196.8(C), HB 3327 of 2024). A school employee may refuse to be a volunteer diabetes care assistant without penalty, and a district must not move a student to another school based on the presence of a nurse or assistant.
