For T1D families on Dexcom · iPhone

T1D is trial and error. Glide does the science.

From unpredictable spikes to clear patterns: see what works for every meal.

My Lab: repeat meals, each with a plate photo, scored by time in range

Glide's home screen: live glucose 97 and steady, today's chart with meal and dose markers, 95% time in range, and a meal card showing this meal's logged history

My Lab

Every meal is an experiment. My Lab keeps score.

Waffles, tacos, cereal: Glide groups your repeat meals and scores each one against what actually happened after.

  • Time-in-range and median rise per meal, from your own logged days
  • Verdicts appear after enough repeats; single days prove nothing
  • Every trial shows its dose: ICR and pre-bolus timing, from your logs
My Lab: a list of repeat meals — grilled cheese and tomato soup, tacos, waffles, pot pie, pb&j — each with a photo of the plate and scored with overall time in range plus its best and worst days

Carbify

Snap the plate. Glide drafts the carb count.

Point the camera at dinner and AI proposes a count and a description in an editable field, because the final number is always yours.

  • Refine in plain words: “add an apple”, “only half the rice”
  • Every logged meal builds your history with that food
  • Barcode scan reads the package's own nutrition label

Average miss on packaged foods: 3.5 g, measured and published.

Alerts

When it matters more, it gets louder.

Lows, fast rises and falls, and lost signal arrive as a banner you can glance at. A dangerous low overnight rings your phone. An actual call, the kind that wakes you.

  • High signal-to-noise notifications: my family reads the number right off the Lock Screen and moves on
  • You pick the low threshold and the hours it applies to; cross it and Glide calls you, then calls back until the low clears
  • It also calls when readings stop arriving. A sensor that quits at 2 AM is the outage you'd otherwise sleep through

Every threshold, window and interval is yours to set. Banners are free; the nighttime call is Premium.

Daytime: a banner

2:47 AM: a call
Nightstand mode: a black bedside screen at 2:05 AM showing 172 and steady, with a faint sparkline along the bottom

Nightstand mode

A screen you can read at 3 AM.

Tap the reading and Glide goes full-screen black: the number, the trend, the clock, a faint sparkline. Set the phone down and it stays readable from across the room.

  • It stays awake all night: nothing dims or locks it on a timer
  • Your brightness slider and auto-brightness stay in charge

Together

One kid, one stream, the whole family.

Parents and kid share one live picture. Everyone can log a meal or a dose, and it all lands in the same history.

  • Invite a co-parent or grandparent with a one-time code
  • The numbers your clinic uses: time in range, GMI, GRI, ready for appointment day
  • Replay any day: meals, doses, and glucose on one timeline
Insights: 30-day time in ranges bar, average glucose, GMI, and coefficient of variation, the consensus clinic metrics

Why I built this

The kid who tested the same candy for a week

Juicebox Podcast episode #217 tells the story of a teenager who loved one particular candy and could never get it right. So he bought a week's worth of it, got one of the first CGMs, and ran the same experiment every day (dose, eat, watch the curve, adjust) until he found what worked for him.

That story stuck with me, because it's the truest thing about T1D: single days lie. The same meal, the same dose, a different number — and the only way through is repetition. That kid got there with a week of candy and stubbornness. Most families don't have the energy, because T1D already takes all of it.

Glide is that week of testing, made automatic: every meal photographed and logged in seconds, every outcome scored, every repeat compared, so the finding-out happens while you live your life.

Questions

FAQ

Which CGMs work with Glide?

Dexcom only, today. You connect with the Dexcom account's own Share credentials; Libre and other sensors aren't supported yet.

What's free, and what's Premium?

Free: live glucose for the whole family, logging and editing, replay, banner notifications, followers, nightstand mode, and the glucose forecast. Premium adds carb estimates from a photo of the plate or a barcode scan, My Lab, and the nighttime call alarm. One subscription covers everyone on the profile.

Does Glide tell me how much insulin to take?

No, never. Glide shows your own logged history and what followed; dosing decisions stay with you and your care team. It is not a medical device. Glide is a companion, not a replacement: keep the Dexcom app and the rest of your usual diabetes tools running exactly as they are.

Who can use it?

Ages 13 and up hold their own accounts; parents run the profile for younger kids. Family members join with a one-time invite code.
